Side-eye checking if I got your joke

Seems you practiced every word you spoke

You could have been imposing___ if not so insular

An angel in the making brooding man so insecure

Young man's promise spoiling on the vine

Burn through everything searching for a rhyme

Everyone was envious for a window in time

Until you shut out the world from that beautiful mind

Did we all abandon you?   High up on your shelf

A porcelain Angel  singing to yourself

As much to anyone as anybody else

Space between us wider every day

Perhaps it was deliberate, but who am I to say?
